Author: A bunch of unnamed peopleApril fools is the best time of the year. This time, I figured it would be fun to see the Crysis mod finished up. Well, the end product was a complete disaster. All the textures in the textures and gfx folders have photoshop filters and other horrible adjustments applied to them, and all the music has been replaced with hilarious garbage, some made by a friend of mine and the rest taken from the internet.
This is possibly the most hilarious mod ever. Seriously. If you're up for some good laughs, try playing through the single player campaign with this beast installed. The only bug that slipped past my detection before the release was a single texture with incorrect dimensions...meaning that some levels in single player won't load. Whoops. XD
Who's up for V2?

Author: Map-Craft mapping team (See readme for all authors)This was a fun project. Pande decided to host a group project in which every participant would take the map for a week, make some changes and pass it on. Well, it didn't quite work out exactly as planned, especially with myself being the main delay, but here it is.
The map sports a gloomy, deserted atmosphere. The color scheme above ground is dark blue and white, and below the surface is mostly orange. Several apparatus and many computer consoles, crates and benches are strewn about.
This map has quite a unique advancement, though...on top of a goodly number of destroyable objects, there is also a scripted spawn system. If the map is started in duel mode, it will choose one out of five preset map configurations and set the players in the appropriate places. Try it out, it's a nifty little thing.
As far as I know, there is only one secret, and it's not really that special. But hey, give this one a try, it's definitely one of the coolest maps out there as far as interactivity and quality go.
Taspir Power Complex V3 |

Author: Parabolic Minds (See readme for all authors)In my humble opinion, this is the most awesome map ever to set foot on JA servers. This is a major, MAJOR improvement over V2, with all kinds of special features and hidden goodies.
Graphically, the map has been improved with a new lava texture, falling ash from the sky, new shaders, optional clan logos, new effects and a brand-new power complex. In the way of additional areas, there is now a lockable council room, clan bedrooms, many brand-new secrets and tons of scripted material. What's more, you can now fly out into space and have a ship-to-ship battle in an asteroid field!
This is kind of a short review, and the file is a pretty big download, but you will get six maps with this download. There are two FFA maps (day and night), three duel maps (Outdoor day & night, and a power complex duel) and a CTF map that has been modified a lot to give a new twist on the good ol' FFA5.
Oh, did I forget to mention that on my tutorials page, there's a tutorial that will help you put in your own clan logos and bedroom pictures, and disable some of the buttons you don't like? :>
So, what are you waiting for? Download it now and have fun! I dare you to find all of the secrets...
Also, the modified source files have been released on jk3files. Or you can download the originals here.
Cave Prefabs |

Author: NAB622These cave prefabs were created for another joint mapping project between Yami_Ryou and I. The map they are for should be released VERY soon, and it's actually coming along extremely fast compared to any map I've worked on before.
The basic idea behind these prefabs was to make a simple copy & paste set of caves that can be used like model train tracks - you can go between sizes, join them, modify them, whatever you want to do - all by some simple work. Putting the caves together isn't the time consuming part, though - the prefabs are NOT made to go together seamlessly. There are two big reasons for this: first, when you are joining them, you are forced to add some irregularities of your own, so they look less repetitive. Second, this means you'll be learning something by using these. You'll learn the way I made them - by dragging vertexes to make "Quadsoup".
These prefabs were actually made for a Tremulous/Jedi Academy map, but they'll work for any quake III map. READ THE README for suggestions on easy and efficient usage.
Earthwood Arena |

Author: Yami RyouYami Ryou has become quite the mapper since his first official map! Earthwood Arena is based off of a similar idea to bloodletter arena, but it is executed infinitely better. This is not a remap of a base JA map, but rather, this map was made entirely from scratch!
This arena is medieval themed, with a nice arena to fight in and two practicing/bedding areas on either side. There is a hallway on the outside wall that goes around the arena, linking the four observance platforms together. There is one secret, which I couldn't find the entrance to, but accidentally found the secret itself. I won't say what's in it, but you can have some real fun if you play around with it...
This map supports FFA, team ffa, and duel gametypes, and it ALSO includes a night version (screenshots 4 and 5) for those that enjoy dueling in the dark with their saber casting an eerie glow around them.
GTKRadiant Shader Mod |
Downloads:
Author: MeThis is a nifty little mod that changes the colors of the different kinds of caulking and nodraw to correspond with what they are. It also adjusts the transparencies of some of the shaders. All caulking and nodraw shaders are now partially transparent, and the trigger texture was made more transparent. Even though it's a small mod, it can be immensely helpful in many cases. The only real downside to this mod is that it makes your frame render times in Radiant a little bit longer, but render times in Radiant don't really matter a whole lot, do they? :]

Authors: Yami Ryou and meYami Ryou is a wonderful mapper! He was making this map based on an idea from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. He used one of the standard duel maps as a starting point, and was doing a very good job on his own, but he ran into a few problems. He asked me to fix them and to add a second level, so that's what I did. I added the staircases going up to the second level and I added the railing, and then textured it up and added limits to how far players can go outward. I didn't do very much, I just opened up a few doors for him to improve on - and he did! I love this map, and I'm surprised it's not on more servers than it is.
Downside: This map also tends to run somewhat laggy, due to very little caulking. This is because this is Yami's first official map - and it's very good for a first time!
Taspir Power Complex, Version 2 beta |
Downloads:
Authors: Parabolic Minds (Me, Phasmatis Apparatus, StolenBlade), and Phred and AdrianThis is version two of Taspir Power Complex. Even though it was released in beta form, there will not be an official Version 2 (V3 is up above). This map has many new features. The skybox has been DRASTICALLY expanded, ships can be spawned from the tops of the buildings, the control tower was made taller, and the list goes on and on. As for improvements, the FPS issue from version 1 was mostly taken care of. All of the buildings are portaled off, and the power complex has been portaled as well, stopping the problem with the sound leak. This map is VERY fun to play on, but BEWARE! There is a hidden control room (VERY well hidden with a scripted entrance for no cheating!), from which you can literally OWN the entire map.
Downsides: This map can crash very easily if you spawn too many things at once. For safe gameplay, keep your spawning below 60 NPCs at one time. Also, in the control room, if you try to use the button on the wall to restart the map, it will crash the server. Please stay away from it. :]

Author: Parabolic Minds (Me, Phasmatis Apparatus, StolenBlade)Taspir Power Complex was a joint effort of three mappers to make FFA5 much more enjoyable, and it was a success! All the buildings have their roofs closed up, and access has been given to all floors and roofs of all of the buildings. On the bottom of the map at the base of the 'red building,' Phasmatis Apparatus added a power complex. It is what powers the buildings, and if you have a big imagination, you could say it powers part of the planet, too. Secrets have been added EVERYWHERE. And I'm not joking, they are everywhere. You'll have to find them.
Downside: The map can run very laggy and you may need to turn down your video settings to make it playable. Also, sound leaks from the power complex. Oops! Still a fun map, but version 2 is a ton better.
NAB622 Sounds Mod |
Downloads:
Author: MeThis is a sound mod that gives most of your JA game's sounds a massive bass boost. It sounds best on a laptop computer - it is meant to compensate for poor speakers. But it's cool anyway, and really brings the game to life with a subwoofer, too. It also adjusts some of the force power sounds a little bit; light side powers sound a little less evil, and the mind trick sound has a slightly higher pitch when it is turned off. Force speed and jump each have a slight phaser effect added to them, and sense has a slightly higher pitch. The lightning sound has a little bit of static added to it, but I don't think it turned out the best it could have. Other than that, it's a nice little mod. I use it (because I made it for myself)!
